Cook's Companion

The Cook’s Companion is a marketing tool for Independent Cookshop and Housewares retailers, members of bira and the Cookshop & Housewares Association. Retail members can use it to establish or reinforce your reputation as the local cookshop specialist, win new customers, encourage existing customers to spend more with you and increase your sales. Cook’s Companion will also help increase your profits as bira direct negotiates exclusive buying prices on the products included. The Cook’s Companion is a compact A5, colourful, stylish and professional consumer promotional booklet, featuring a superb range of unique and specialist cookware, kitchenware and tableware.

Produced annually, valid from October to the following September, all the products are carefully selected by a panel of independent cookshop and housewares retailers from around the country that represents a capsule collection of products at a wide range of price points that set the independent apart from the multiples and supermarkets.

The best thing about Cook’s Companion is that it is personalised with your individual retail identity. The front cover is overprinted with your shop logo/name and the back can be printed with anything you choose, such as a location map, sales advert, competition or even money-off vouchers.

Because all orders are via bira direct, you don’t need to worry about opening new accounts, if you don’t already deal with a particular supplier, as a new account can be speedily opened just with your bira membership number. For convenience, we even supply you with order forms for each of the suppliers, personalised to your company.

The minimum order is 5,000 copies and the more you order the cheaper it gets. The retail prices are set at an agreed average but to personalise any or all of the prices in the brochure costs a single additional payment of £150.
